Cardinal will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Wayne at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Cardinal had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-26 punch to the gut against Van Buren last Friday.
Meanwhile, Wayne took care of business in their home opener. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Woodward Academy 28-26.
Wayne's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Cardinal's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Wayne can add another positive mark to their record or if Cardinal can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Wayne's step.
