The Bloomfield Bombers on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Geneseo Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bloomfield suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. Their tough 63-42 defeat to East Rochester might stick with them for a while. Bloomfield has struggled against East Rochester recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Bloomfield had strong showings from Cameron Smith, who scored 15 points, and Ben Jones, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Geneseo ended up a good deal behind Le Roy two weeks ago and lost 70-53. While losing is never fun, Geneseo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Le Roy is ranked 129th).
Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Geneseo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
Things could have been worse for Bloomfield, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-46 loss to Geneseo in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can Bloomfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
