Baseball Recap: Center Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mesa Verde last Monday, Center came back down to earth. The Cougars came up short against the Colfax Falcons on Saturday, falling 9-1. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andy Hintz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hintz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

Center has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-3-1 record this season. As for Colfax, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Center has already played their next match, an 8-0 loss against Lincoln on the 2nd. As for Colfax, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-6 defeat against Wheatland on the 3rd.
