The Somerville Highlanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 76-54 defeat at the hands of Lynn English. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Somerville in their matchups with Lynn English: they've now lost nine in a row.
Louis Ledesma was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 25 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Pierre Veras, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Somerville's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7. As for Lynn English, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Everett the next time they take the court. Lynn English will head out to face Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Somerville will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
