The KIPP Bold City Greyhounds had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Baldwin by a score of 57-45 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead KIPP Bold City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Banks, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Banks has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mikell Reddick, who scored 13 points.
Baldwin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being nikeese doss, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Doss also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Shawn Winchester was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Baldwin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
KIPP Bold City's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Baldwin, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Bold City and West Nassau will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Baldwin, they will head out on the road to take on Atlantic Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Atlantic Coast is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
