The San Jacinto Tigers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Liberty on the road by a decisive 72-55 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for San Jacinto in their matchups with the Bison: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stephen Castleberry, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Mejia, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
San Jacinto now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
San Jacinto will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Citrus Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to challenge the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tahquitz will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1058th, while the Bison are ranked 219th).
