The Amsterdam Rams pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of South Glens Falls by a score of 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Amsterdam has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Amsterdam lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Miller. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Flint, who scored 15 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Amsterdam and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for South Glens Falls, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amsterdam on the road again on Wednesday and play against Hudson Falls at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hudson Falls is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for South Glens Falls, they will head out on the road to face off against Fonda-Fultonville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fonda-Fultonville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
