The St. Charles Cardinals were the 47-35 winner over the Washington Blue Lions when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. St. Charles took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington on Friday.
Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Wall, who scored 22 points. Isaiah Haithcock was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Washington, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles will square off against Eastmoor Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
