Sumner won the last time they faced Lennard and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sumner Stingrays managed a 70-66 win over the Lennard Longhorns. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stingrays.
Despite the loss, Lennard still got an impressive performance from Richard Sykes, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. Those 30 points gave Sykes a new career-high. Nate Montalvo was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven boards and three blocks.
Sumner's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6. As for Lennard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Sumner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-37 loss against Wharton on the 15th. Lennard has also already played their next match, a 66-65 defeat against Winthrop College Prep Academy on the 15th.
