Ridgewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy, sneaking past 21-18. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Ridgewood are ranked 95 places ahead of Kennedy in the state rankings.
Senior Avery Scott, who rushed for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Ridgewood's success. In fact, with nine tackles Scott was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Jack Wittmaack, who racked up ten tackles.
The victory makes it two in a row for Ridgewood and bumps their record up to 5-2. This is the second loss in a row for Kennedy and nudges their record down to 4-3.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Ridgewood will be playing at home against Hackensack at at 7:00 PM next week. Both of those teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games. As for Kennedy, they will go up against Bergen Tech. Bergen Tech are limping into the game on a eight-game losing streak.
