Friendship Christian (Lebanon, Tenn.) defeat Watertown (Tenn.) 68-26 after a strong game from
Austin Taylor, who rushed for four touchdowns. The scores gave the sophomore 10 touchdowns for the year.
The Commanders were up 34-12 at the half after taking the lead on a
Steven Hollis touchdown run in the first quarter.
Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 22 entering the fourth.
Even though Friendship Christian led by 22 points entering the fourth quarter, it poured the points on, scoring 20 in the fourth.
Brannon Hill made a difference for the Purple Tigers. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 16 touchdowns on the season.
A 54-14 Friendship Christian victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Watertown, which notched a 66-34 victory over Clay County in its previous outing.
In a A District 7 game next week Watertown (6-1) takes on Gordonsville, and Friendship Christian (7-1) will go up against Red Boiling Springs also in a A District 7 game.
