The Wickenburg Wranglers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 40-31 win over Chino Valley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wickenburg also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Katie Chavarria, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Wickenburg's points. Madi Farella was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Wickenburg's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Chino Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wickenburg will square off against Fountain Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fountain Hills will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Chino Valley will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 15th.
