The Daingerfield Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat West Rusk 48-16 at home. Considering Daingerfield has won nine games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Chase Johnson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 338 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Aeryn Hampton was another key contributor, picking up 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Although West Rusk took the loss, they still got scores from Noah Murphy and Kemontrea Mcgregor.
Daingerfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for West Rusk, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Daingerfield will be playing at home against Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Newton comes in on 11 and Daingerfield on three. West Rusk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
