Providence Athletic Club had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South Haven Christian, sneaking past 36-34. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won eight matchups in a row dating back to last season.
Providence Athletic Club was led to victory by Patrick Bennett and Kyle McFarland. Bennett threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes, while McFarland gained 124 total yards. What's more, Bennett racked up 37 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.
South Haven Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jared White, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Kade Atkinson was another key back, gaining 132 total yards.
