Baseball Recap: South Central Takes a Loss

If South Central was feeling good fresh off their 15-9 takedown of Farmville Central on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the J.H. Rose Rampants by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled against the Rampants recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

South Central's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for J.H. Rose, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

South Central and J.H. Rose should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 46th) will meet Greene Central (ranked 131st) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Central 4, the Rams 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, J.H. Rose will face off against Havelock at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (12 vs. 333).
