The Belen Jesuit Wolverines's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They didn't even let LaSalle onto the board and left with a 24-0 victory. The win was just what Belen Jesuit needed coming off of a 41-3 defeat in their prior matchup.
The team won by holding LaSalle to a paltry 221 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Belen Jesuit's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Gavench Marcelin and his three sacks.
Belen Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for LaSalle, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
Belen Jesuit will head out on the road to face off against South Broward at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (South Broward is ranked 152nd, while Belen Jesuit is ranked 130th). LaSalle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
