Eagle is 8-2 against Timberline since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Eagle Mustangs are on the road again and play against the Timberline Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Eagle earned a 53-43 win over Preston.
Meanwhile, Timberline put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Borah by a score of 41-34. Given Timberline's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Borah is ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson Kelly and Jacob Heyne were among the main playmakers for Timberline as the former scored 11 points and the latter scored 14 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Alex Ko was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Eagle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Timberline, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Eagle came up short against Timberline in their previous matchup back in February, falling 67-54. Can Eagle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
