The biggest upset of the week belonged to Texas, who took down 361st ranked Pine Tree, 30-13.
Hallsville extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region II District 14 this week by beating Marshall, 42-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bobcats.
Brad Macek and Buddy Ivery gave Sulphur Springs a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Macek threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns, while Ivery ran for 309 yards. Willy Ivery also contributed to the rushing game with 101 yards on the ground.
Mason Hayes was the best wideout in the league this week as the Pirates fell to the Tigers. Hayes racked up five receptions for 153 yards. Victor Hawkins helped Pine Tree's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
Sulphur Springs' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Macek has thrown for 1482 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Cole Hill has 49 catches for 656 yards. Ivery leads the league in rushing with 844 yards.
Two of the top units in 4A Region II District 14 will face off this week when the Wildcats take on Texas. Sulphur Springs' offense has scored 267 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Barry Norton's team has allowed only 121 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pine Tree takes on Hallsville. Derek Fitzhenry's team is in fifth place, while David Plunk's team is in first place.
The Tigers moved up to 429 from 492 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Texas was able to make the jump by topping the Pirates 30-13.
