Marquez got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jonathan Ramirez out in front who picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ramirez showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Gutierrez-Molina, who threw for 152 yards and two TDs on only 11 passes.
Verdugo Hills will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hoover at 5:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Marquez, they will face off against Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
