The Woodstock Wolverines pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Creekview. While losing is never fun, Woodstock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 90th).
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morghan Slater, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was bree rogers, who scored nine points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Amilya Taft (sy), who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds for Creekview. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taft (sy) has scored all season. Kailyn Hamby was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Woodstock has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Creekview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Woodstock will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Allatoona is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. Creekview will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
