The Jimtown Jimmies will take on the Fairfield Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Jimtown sitting on seven straight wins and Fairfield on four.
Jimtown barely beat Bremen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jimmies blew past the Lions 16-4 on Friday. Considering the Jimmies have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dalton Cook was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Broderic Kaler was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Christman, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Jimtown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bremen only posted an OBP of .227.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield). They put the hurt on Elkhart Christian Academy with a sharp 11-1 victory on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.
Like Jimtown, Fairfield also got a great game from a two-way player: Grady Chupp. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chupp was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other pitching news, Andrew Bailey looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Back at the plate, Eli Miller and Kyler Castetter did most of the damage at the plate: Miller went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Castetter got on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Kasey Hershberger was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Jimtown's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Jimtown couldn't quite finish off Fairfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will the Jimmies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
