The Cromwell Panthers were the 45-26 winner over the Morgan Huskies when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Cromwell took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morgan on Thursday.
Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Johnson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria O'Neill, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Cromwell's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. As for Morgan, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cromwell will face off against North Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morgan, they will head out on the road to face off against Old Saybrook at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
