Volleyball Recap: Mentor Wins Going Away Against Euclid

Mentor barely beat Euclid the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals blew past the Panthers 3-0 on Thursday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mentor never let Euclid on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-9, 25-21.

Samuel Reynolds paced Mentor's offense, picking up 18 kills. Reynolds got some help from Noam Welch and his 31 assists. Reynolds was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Mentor's record now sits at 8-6. As for Euclid, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mentor is set to square off against their familiar foe Chardon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Euclid will face off against rival Stow-Munroe Falls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
