The Platt RVT Panthers will head out to take on the Abbott RVT Wolverines at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Platt RVT barely beat Wright Tech the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Warriors on Monday. 11 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Platt RVT got a great performance from Matt Karaffa as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Jordan Jones was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joshua Mongillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Platt RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Abbott RVT entered their tilt with O'Brien RVT on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Condors. With that win, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Jake Farrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Abbott RVT is 4-1 when Farrell allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Waterbury, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Frank Allo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Abbott RVT pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Platt RVT, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Platt RVT has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Abbott RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Platt RVT suffered a grim 13-6 defeat to Abbott RVT when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
