Softball Recap: Pine Forest Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pine Forest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles never let the Stingrays get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by ten runs or more this season.

Jayonna Hillman was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trennedi Rose, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Jaiden Jones was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

The victory was the third in a row for Pine Forest, bringing their record up to 10-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Pine Forest will host Milton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will head out to take on Aletheia Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Stingrays are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
