Basketball Recap: Sugar Hill Christian Academy Find Success

Old Suwanee Christian came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Sugar Hill Christian Academy, but Tyler Veugeler wouldn't allow it. The Sugar Hill Christian Academy Stallions enjoyed a cozy 80-65 victory over the Old Suwanee Christian Conquerors on Tuesday thanks in part to Veugeler, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Espin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. He has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last seven times he's played.

Despite the loss, Old Suwanee Christian still got an impressive performance from Jon Rojas, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten boards. That was a full 53.8% of Old Suwanee Christian's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was John Barr, who put up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy's record now sits at 2-7. As for Old Suwanee Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

As for Old Suwanee Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-61 win against Trinity Classical on the 6th.
