It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Frontier Regional had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Ayer Shirley Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Red Hawks, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ashley Taylor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Frontier Regional let Delaney 'Lu' Fifield and Liv Machon run wild. Fifield went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Machon went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
