The Avalon Eagles won the last time they faced the Covington Owls, and things went their way on Friday too. Avalon took down Covington 28-14. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Avalon.
Leading Avalon to victory were Haley Zaidle and Brooklyn De La Garza. Zaidle scored 11 points, while De La Garza scored 11 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least 25% of Avalon's points.
Avalon's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Covington, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Avalon will stay at home for another game and welcome Leon at 5:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Leon: 28, Avalon: 23.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Covington, they will head out on the road to face off against Gholson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
