The Sun Valley Vanguards won against the Delaware County Christian Knights on Tuesday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Sun Valley slipped by the Knights 64-63. Winning may never get old, but Sun Valley sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Delaware County Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Jameson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jameson posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Josiah Gaines, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Sun Valley pushed their record up to 13-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Delaware County Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Sun Valley will take on the Rockets at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Science Leadership Academy at Beeber is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season. As for Delaware County Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MAST Community Charter is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
