Baseball Recap: South Point's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While South Point's win against Symmes Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pointers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Vikings 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Pointers, who have now won three games in a row.

South Point saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Hanshaw, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Hanshaw is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

South Point pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Symmes Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Point will venture away from home to square off against Gallia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pointers will need to watch out since the Blue Devils have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Symmes Valley, they will head out to take on Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 4, the Oaks 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
