Spring came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Eisenhower Eagles. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jesus Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He has become a key player for Spring: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Spring let Anthony Cuarenta and Julian Curry run wild. Cuarenta scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Curry went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Sheddrick Green also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.8.

Spring's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Eisenhower, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Spring didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-6 win against MacArthur on the 1st. As for Eisenhower, they have also already played their next game, a 14-2 loss against Dekaney on the 1st.
