The Hillcrest Rams will head out to take on the Easley Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Hillcrest came out on top against J.L. Mann on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Rams never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Suzanna Duwel

03/11/25 vs Mauldin | 4 |
03/01/25 @ Greer | 2 |
04/02/25 @ Riverside | 1 |
03/14/25 vs A.C. Flora | 1 |
Hillcrest got a great performance from Suzanna Duwel as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Duwel a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Hillcrest let Skyla Benton and Maria Sialmas run wild. Benton went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Sialmas got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Sialmas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Cross, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Easley). Everything went their way against J.L. Mann on Monday as they made off with a 19-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Wave.
Jalyn McGee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). McGee was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Camora Little was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Journey Price was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Hillcrest now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Easley, their record now sits at 7-8.
Hillcrest was able to grind out a solid victory over Easley in their previous meeting on April 1st, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
