The Affton Cougars entered their tilt with the McCluer North Stars with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Affton put the hurt on McCluer North with a sharp 44-24 win on Wednesday. Affton pushed the score to 42-19 by the end of the third, a deficit McCluer North cut but never quite recovered from.
Amelia Wilson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Anna M daughtry was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals.
Affton pushed their record up to 10-9 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for McCluer North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Affton will head out on the road to challenge Ritenour at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McCluer North, they will be playing at home against Mehlville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mehlville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
