Westover Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Oak Level Baptist Academy at home to the tune of 69-22. That 69-22 margin sets a new team best for Westover Christian Academy this season.
Malachai Waller was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeley Bettendorf, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but North Cross ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Fredericksburg Christian 85-82. The victory made it back-to-back wins for North Cross.
North Cross can attribute much of their success to Jesiah Hines, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Antonio Mack, who scored 37 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Mack's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jaziel Hart was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Westover Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for North Cross, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Westover Christian Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51 points per game. It's a different story for North Cross, though, as they've been averaging only 62.8 points per game. The only thing between Westover Christian Academy and another offensive beatdown is North Cross.
