After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thousand Oaks, Oxnard was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Dos Pueblos Chargers. Surprisingly, this marked the Yellowjackets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
While Oxnard might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Dos Pueblos scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21.
Leilah McDougald paced Oxnard's offense, picking up 12 kills. McDougald got some help from Maya Cunningham and her 38 assists. Finally, Cunningham was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
With the victory, Oxnard broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13. As for Dos Pueblos, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
