After a string of three wins, the Spruce Timberwolves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Poteet 60-33. Spruce has not had much luck with Poteet recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Spruce still got an impressive performance from Mesoulay Williams, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Taniah Williams, who scored eight points.
Spruce's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Poteet, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 19-11 record this season.
Spruce will head out on the road to challenge Seagoville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poteet, they will be playing at home against Conrad at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conrad is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
