The Brookfield Academy Blue Knights had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Catholic Central with a 56-50 victory on Friday. For Brookfield Academy, this counts as revenge for the 49-43 defeat Catholic Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Brookfield Academy had a senior duo take command as Amelia Rigel scored 17 points and Madison York scored 15 points. Rachel Simmons was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Brookfield Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9. As for Catholic Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13.
Brookfield Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. As for Catholic Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Luther Prep at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
