Hempstead hasn't had much luck against East Bernard recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Brahmas at 6:00 p.m. Hempstead has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hempstead's offense. They lost 17-0 to Van Vleck on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Bernard). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Boling a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Haley Preisler was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Samantha Fryer was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Claire Viktorin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and three runs.
East Bernard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for East Bernard and bumps their season record up to 9-10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Hempstead, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Hempstead suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to East Bernard in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
