Baseball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern managed to slip by High Point the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Eagles on Friday, falling 25-4. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Northwestern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alberto Weaver, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Weaver is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Northwestern now has a losing record of 1-2. As for High Point, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Northwestern has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 loss against Laurel on the 2nd. As for High Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against DuVal on the 1st.
