The Franklin Quakers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Ingraham. Franklin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ingraham apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Sir Tuck and Bubba Banks, Franklin certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Tuck rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns, while Banks rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Franklin's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Roosevelt (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Ingraham, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will square off against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Ingraham, they will head out on the road to face off against Nathan Hale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
