The Brush Arcs will face off against the Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Brush has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Cuyahoga Falls hit Brush with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Arcs fell just short of the Black Tigers by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Arcs in their meetings with the Black Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Keith Feagin, Jr. was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Brush's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Isaac Sypniewski was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cleveland Central Catholic). They walked away with a 16-12 win over Warrensville Heights last Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Ironmen needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
The team relied heavily on Vondell Miller, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Driscal, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Cleveland Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Brush's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Cleveland Central Catholic, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Everything went Brush's way against Cleveland Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Brush made off with a 24-1 win. Do the Arcs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ironmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
