The Easton Area Rovers and the Hatboro-Horsham Hatters will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Easton Area is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Easton Area made off with a 55-54 victory over Pocono Mountain East. The win was all the more spectacular given Easton Area's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while Pocono Mountain East is ranked 144th).
Andrew Hoadley was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 20 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Algee Macon, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Hatboro-Horsham had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They really took it to New Hope-Solebury for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-26 victory on the road. The win was just what Hatboro-Horsham needed coming off of a 74-37 defeat in their prior matchup.
Sean Mccue and Ryan Smith were among the main playmakers for Hatboro-Horsham as the former scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and the latter almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 assists, and nine steals. Those 11 assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Shane Phillips, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Easton Area's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Hatboro-Horsham, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
