Baseball Recap: Badin Snags 15th Win in Last 16 Games

After losing to St. Xavier the last time they met, Badin decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams put the hurt on the Bombers with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Ollis and Kade Bowling did most of the damage at the plate: Ollis went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Bowling went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Ollis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Vangen, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Badin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Badin is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for St. Xavier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Coming up, Badin will challenge La Salle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Xavier, they will take on Oak Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
