The Irondequoit Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Victor Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Irondequoit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Last Friday, Irondequoit came up short against Brockport and fell 48-41. Irondequoit has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Aubrey Smith, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points. Ellie Bottiglier was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Even though they lost, Irondequoit were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Even though Victor has not done well against Webster Schroeder recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Victor slipped by Webster Schroeder 46-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Victor.
Irondequoit's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Victor, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Irondequoit took a serious blow against Victor in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 68-31. Can Irondequoit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
