If the North Hollywood Huskies were riding high off their 62-30 takedown of the Monroe Vikings last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Hollywood took a serious blow against Grant on Monday, falling 83-48. While losing is never fun, North Hollywood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 855th, while Grant is ranked 239th).
Grant got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was WILLIAM OVERTON out in front who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. OVERTON has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Taylor, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
North Hollywood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Grant, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Hollywood will take on Poly at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Poly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Grant, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Verdugo Hills at 3:00 p.m. on January 30th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
