The Carroll Eagles are on the road again on Monday and play against the Ashford Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. Hopefully Carroll is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ashford in Alabama (Carroll is ranked 22nd, while Ashford is ranked 160th).
Last Friday, Carroll suffered a tough 62-37 loss at the hands of Enterprise. The loss was Carroll's first of the season.
Despite the loss, Carroll saw an underclassman step up: N'jia Gosha scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Pruitt, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ashford waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 47-42 win over Poplar Springs.
Their wins bumped Carroll to 4-1 and Enterprise to 3-1.
Everything came up roses for Carroll against Ashford in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 73-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carroll since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
