The River Ridge Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Timberline, falling 76-35. River Ridge found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, River Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Ryzen Nunez scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Timberline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darrell Gipson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Kenyon Simmons, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
River Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Timberline, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
River Ridge will be playing at home against Gig Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Timberline, they will head out on the road to face off against Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Auburn has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 314 points over their last four games.
