You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Blackman Blaze's strategy against the Siegel Stars on Friday. Everything went Blackman's way against Siegel as Blackman made off with a 59-33 victory. Given Blackman's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Siegel is ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Blackman to victory were Kaelyn Flowers and Lyriq Mastin. Flowers scored 13 points along with four steals, while Mastin scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Flowers hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Amirah Herring was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Blackman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Siegel, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
Blackman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Siegel also has no future games currently scheduled.
