Softball Recap: South Greene Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Greene, South Greene was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Johnson County Longhorns a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kortnei Bailey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, South Greene got a massive performance out of Reagan Arrowood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Arrowood has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Hensley, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

South Greene always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South Greene's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Johnson County, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
