The Nettleton Raiders''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Forrest City 62-30 on the road. The result was nothing new for Nettleton, who have now won three matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Nettleton was led to victory by Xavier Harrell and Tj Brown. Harrell rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, while Brown gained 251 total yards and five touchdowns. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roshawd Washington, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kyman Lee also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Nettleton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7-1 Forrest City and 2-7 Paragould (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.8% over those games). As for Forrest City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nettleton will take on Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley View is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Forrest City, they will be playing at home against Wynne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
